School started for me today.
I am really the epitomy of wat chinese call fan(4) jian(4)
Some days ago I was still whining to Ms D,
who happens to be my fellow partner-to-Singaporeans-in-Nation-Building,
as well as my SIM sch mate that it seemed as though
it's taking forever for school to start this year.
And today, after my 2nd class of the day,
I can't seem to finish grumbling to my driver throughout the whole journey home
about how tiring school suddenly feels to me.

This holiday is a rather fruitful one I might say.
Besides the big hooha that cropped up at our favourite shake leg make money organisation
or more like, if not for it,
I wouldn't have gone and re-exposed myself to backend work
at a well-known publishing firm

and got to know the crazy bunch of people I like to call Batchies.

If not for them,
I wldn't have known the TRUE meaning behind the term CB
wldn't have experienced the thrill of playing truant for sakae sushi buffet
wldn't have been able to sit through countless fridays of horrible packed lunches
wldn't have been able to appreciate NASI LEMAK
there wldn't have been reinvention and evolutions of "factory work"
spinelli cookie loving sessions,
and the unforgettable crappy email busting exercise
that we undertake without fail every single day.

The office was a better place because of them.
Continue bringin on the sunshine wherever u may be people!

On the last day of August 2008,
provider Zee and I were part of the horde of Crazy Singaporeans
who fought the insane crowd on buses, trains and even toilets,
to be part of this world's first event

The Nike Race 10K.

You can't believe the no. of people present.
It's like seeing never-ending clusters of red ants.
So that's what 10000 people look like.
Makes me feel like National Day all over again.
And if you happen to see news footages of people climbing over barricades
trying to get their way around the organizers,
and you happen to think you saw two familiar figures climbing very clumsily
over the barriers,
try to convince yourselves it's not us.
Thanks.

It's so easy to lose sight of each other.
Everyone looks virtually the same.
When that happens,
you gotta rely on something distinct to tell people apart.
For instance,
by VOICES.
I told you I have a really nice, unforgettable voice.
Why do you think I enjoy being in a call centre?

So we finished the run,
grabbed the freebies and drinks like some market aunties,
grimaced at the bands playing in the post-run concerts
and scrambled off in search of REAL food.

I think it's true,
when I looked at the mountains and mountains of food pics in my ph,
some of which I am too lazy to even publish,
that my friends and I eat a WHOLE DAMN LOT.
So much so that I begin to wonder if I am LOADED (which, of cos I am NOT).

Food is one thing that I really spend alot on,
without hesitation somemore.
Are we really spending too much on food?

The whole experience of eating makes me happy.
It's the process of having found a nice, clean, relatively quiet,
air-conditioned place to sit down,
and savour the good company of your dinner partner,
the roaring uncontrolled laughters
with the accompanying food
that makes me happy.
And with each and every little happiness,
there comes a price to pay of course.

In this case,
it's the holes in our pockets
and the lard in our tummies and butts.
But it doesn't matter cos,
fat can be burnt off,
money can be earned.

And at the end of the day,
you'll realise that it's that warm bubbly feeling called happiness
that stays,
that lingers on
that'll be there for you to remember and relish over and over again.

On a beautiful Saturday,
I had the great great great greeeaaaat fortune
to watch a beautifully choreographed dance of lights.

It's the fireworks festival.
The many many split second explosions of exuberance
that has captured Singaporeans in jaw-dropping awe.

Very luckily we managed to catch these bursts at eye level
thanks to Manyzer Hung's company's generous non-monetary benefits.

Alright, I noe,
from the pics,
the Koreans don't look like they're very good at this,
but trust me,
the display was spectacular.

So spectacular I proposed to bestie,
and we all ended up celebrating the romantic occasion
with choruses of synchronised "Wahhhhh"

Enuf of no-skill shots,
let's look at "babes" and Manyzer Hung's babies.

Third party extra wheel zee

The very jump-able wo.
Ex gymnast lor, don't play play!
While queuing for MOF.
I told u the desert was good.

Zee's babies!!

Yup,
Dew and I r zee's babies too.
Haha!!

Last but not least,
Our human version of fireworks.

The thing about friendships that has gotten too deep
and too enduring is this.
We have our good times.
Maybe we had too good a time.
And after so long,
we begin to trust so much,
too much maybe?
So much so that we just begin to do things without much consideration.
Things that are spontaneous,
things that are out of fun.

And sometimes, we just forget that not everyone is as tolerant
nor share the same view as us.

But just like fireworks,
that's how friendships should be isn't it,
how very different elements manage to come together dancing in their own way
but yet strangely still able to find common ground,
and finally, coming to complement one another.

I can't promise you that there will not be repeats of such pranks-go-wrong,
neither can I promise you that there will not be any more big blow-ups.

For doing so will put me on tenterhooks,

watching my actions, my words consciously
and I don't wanna stop being myself.
What happened hurt me just as much as it does you.
But friendships are like that I suppose.
I'm a rather mild character.
And I don't get angry unless I really care.
So if we ever get into another heated argument in future,
don't ever forget that.

I think this could be why heaven made both of us females.

So that none of us will give up when the going gets rough.

要到十年的友谊 是一种罕见的福气。
女人,我珍惜那胖胖傻傻的你!
